Aaah, You can smell it in the air. Happens every year when February comes around, you can start to feel footy is nearly upon us again, as the cricket is winding down and every news report from clubs is ‘player X is flying’, or ‘player X has had his best preseason ever’ etc eg
As at today, there is 47 days till the Tigers and Blues clash at the G to open the 2020 AFL season. Of course before that, to whet your appetite, you have AFLW starting on the 7th Feb where again we’ll see the Tigers face the Blues in the season opener, the AFL community games start on the 20th Feb with the Hawks and Saints kicking that off, and then on the 27th of Feb you have the Bushfire relief State of Origin clash between the Vics and the Allstars!
This year promises to be a cracker, with it looming as one of the most even ever.
Plenty of questions abound;
Can the Tigers go back to back? Or will Tim Kelly’s recruitment give the Eagles the edge?
Will the real Melbourne stand up? Or did we get that last year?
Can teams like the Saints and North make the finals? Or will the old stagers like Geelong keep them out?
There will be a fair bit of footy content coming over the next month, with each team previewed, plus ‘the views’ season predictions.
So let me know how you think your team will go this year? Got a Brownlow prediction or Grand final prediction, then let us know about it.
Either way, get excited as Footy’s nearly back and I can’t bloody wait!
